Having an almost six year old and an eight month old…a lot has changed since my first foray into baby jog strollers…That Kool Stride jogging stroller that has logged literally hundreds and hundreds of miles carting my daughter around, training for marathons, and just walks to the park, had and has always been, a welcome friend.

Well since we now needed a second jog stroller (for our son) it was time for some more hardcore jog stroller research to see what has changed if anything in the last five plus years…Was my Kool Stride still the right choice? Do we get a new stroller more equipped for older, heavier riders (my daughter is coming whether she wants to or not…Leap Pad anyone?) and hand me down to the little one? SO many questions, and SO many strollers…

Amorosa Double Jogging Stroller Reviews

I think the first thing you need to do when researching strollers is ask yourself what it will be used for. I know that makes sense, but be honest with yourself…Are you looking at top of the line jogger strollers to log some serious miles with a co-pilot (if so, I assume you are a runner, not someone thinking they’ll pick up running now that they have a baby)? Or maybe you are a fast walker who needs good storage etc? Maybe even you just like the look, and the big tires for easier moving on grass etc and going to the park? All of these reasons and needs should be considered when researching your choices. I can’t tell you how many people look at our Kool Stride and say, “oh, is that a good jog stroller? We want to get one?” I’ll ask, “oh do you run?” and 99% of the time they’ll say no…Please don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against anyone’s desire to get a jog stroller, however our is built to be light, limited aerodynamic storage, and fast, fast, fast…My neighbor has a Schwinn jogging stroller, and it is bigger, has more storage, and more cup holder, bells and whistles etc…Again nothing wrong with it, she doesn’t run, but she wants maximum storage and the ability to go “off road” ie, the park, nature trails etc, and she loves it (and can’t figure out how we get by with so little storage). So please, don’t just ask what the best is, and invest the money for something you truly don’t need or isn’t tailored to your exact specifications…

As for my Kool Stride jogging stroller? I chose to go with a similar model as our other Kool Stride. We didn’t go double jog stroller because our kids are too distant in age and size and we didn’t want the pulling in one direction of having a 50LB kid on the left, and a 12 on the right…Manufacturers have done so much in trying to create doubles (and even triple) that will distribute weight accordingly, but again this weight difference is just too much. Also, My wife and I BOTH like to push a stroller, and my wife couldn’t even push a double and actually run (walking is different, but remember, we use our jogger to run with). Not much has changed really however in the last 5 years…They are using some different composite metals to make the strollers lighter, faster and stronger, while not adding additional poundage to the overall stroller. You also get what you pay for to a certain extent, and for something we use SO much, we wouldn’t think of choosing an off brand. Major manufacturers like Kool Stride stand by their products so much, it’s worth paying a little extra. We went with the Senior Baby due to its high weight capacity, 85LBS (we’ve proven to ourselves that we will use it well into the later years with our kids) and took our existing jog stroller to the local bike shop for a tune up and it now runs like new as well. I still feel the Kool Stride is the best make out there for our needs, and you may as well, so do your research, and take a look at the Kool Stride…you won’t be disappointed.
